ESPN據聯盟訊息源透露，太陽已經與自由球員泰森-錢德勒（Tyson Chandler）達成4年5200萬美元的合約協議。

錢德勒2010-011賽季幫助小牛隊拿下NBA總冠軍，之後轉投尼克，再回歸小牛，上賽季出賽75場、平均得10.3分11.5個籃板。今年夏天，他成為自由球員。

太陽向錢德勒許諾會用盡可能多的薪資空間來簽下他，並且不會送走奈特（Brandon Knight）和布萊德索（Eric Bledsoe）兩大後衛。

32歲的錢德勒，簽下這份合約與4年前加盟尼克時非常相似，將會維持到2018-19賽季，作為內線球員，錢德勒的防守能力早已得到認可。

之前曾有消息稱太陽也在追求阿爾德里奇（LaMarcus Aldridge），而錢德勒的離開，可能引起連鎖反應，因為小牛已經為快艇中鋒喬丹（DeAndre Jordan）騰出先發中鋒的位置。
